The drama surrounding the high-profile divorce between Hollywood actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard appears to be over as the couple reportedly reached an amicable settlement.

The divorce process for Depp and Heard was anything but amicable, with Heard accusing the Hollywood mega-star of committing domestic violence and Depp labeling his ex-spouse a “gold digger” who was fabricating damaging stories about him in order to secure more money in the divorce.

Immediately following the announcement of the divorce settlement, Depp and Heard released a joint statement through their representatives. The statement read, in part, that the couple had a “passionate” and “volatile” relationship but that they always loved each other. Importantly, the statement clarified that “neither party has made false accusations for financial gain,” which matters a great deal in the context of Heard’s accusations that Depp physically assaulted her on multiple occasions.

Depp and Heard were married for approximately 15 months before the marriage collapsed. When Heard filed for divorce from Depp in May, she accused the actor of throwing a cellphone at her and striking her in the face with his hands. Sometime later, Heard was granted a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband – and the restraining order remained in place throughout the divorce negotiation process.

Now it appears that the contentious divorce process has finally ended. In addition to reaching an agreement regarding the divorce, Heard also agreed to file for a dismissal of the temporary restraining order she obtained against Depp.

The details of the divorce settlement are going to be kept private, so it is unclear at this time just what kind of arrangement regarding property division and/or spousal support was agreed to by the parties.
